Every year at Fort Mason in San Francisco the public library holds the biggest book sale on the west coast. It’s basically a huge warehouse filled with books for $2 or $3! I went this weekend for the first time and I was lucky that the weather was absolutely beautiful.
While it was amazing to search through the piles of books, I actually didn’t take home that many. I was extremely disappointed to find that there wasn’t a fantasy section OR a young adult section *gasp.* All of the books in my genre were mixed into fiction, literature and science fiction so I was digging through books forever. Its probably a good thing I didn’t come home with 20 books because I don’t have that much space in my apartment.
I ended up coming home with these three books:
Tithe by Holly Black
Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McCguire
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
I probably could have stayed for hours but honestly I was a little overwhelmed by all of the books. Regardless, it was any book lover’s dream to see so many cheap books! 🙂
You showed great restraint! At the last big book sale I went to ($1 for paperback $2 for hardcover) I brought home about 40 books hahaha

If there was a book section with a lot of my TBR books I might have come back with more! I really don’t have that much room in my apartment though, it might be time to purchase another bookcase haha 🙂

Haha oh yes, I definitely didn’t have room for them all either. Another book shelf is ALWAYS a good idea tho! ❤️

Oh wow – I saw this sale all over social media and missed it! That’s really interesting that they didn’t have a fantasy or young adult section. I find that library sales are great places to discover new books, partly because I spend so much time wandering through random sections looking for mis-shelved books! that’s part of the fun of library sales 🙂

That’s so strange that they didn’t have a fantasy or YA section! You’d think that a sale that big would. 😛 Regardless it looks like you grabbed some good books and I have to give you credit for not grabbing a ton of books because I would not have had as much self-control hahaha

I know! I kept wandering around thinking I missed it 😭 although while I DEFINITELY think YA is a genre maybe now everyone would agree haha.

Even if you don’t consider it a genre, I’d think you’d still want to separate it out? It just makes it easier for everyone lol So weird.

Aw, that’s too sad that there was no YA or fantasy section! But, I’ve heard that Water for Elephants is a wonderful book, and I personally loved the movie so I hope you enjoy that!

Thank you! It’s one of those books that I’ve heard so much about but never got around to reading 😊 I was happy to pick it up!

Excellent choices! Love it! My library has horrible books for sale…but it does have good ones to check out, so I guess that’s a consolation. I’m going to post my haul shortly.
But I want to read Tithe!

I’m very excited to read Tithe! I have yet to read a Holly Black book.
