Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here is my teaser this week from Six of Crows. So far it is fantastic! I can’t believe it took me so long to pick this one up.
“She’d murdered for Dregs, stolen, brought down bad men and good, and Kaz had never hinted that any of the assignments were less than a command to be obeyed. This was the price she’d agreed to when Per Haskell had purchased her contract and liberated her from the Menagerie. So what was different about this job?”
Inej- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, pg 67
“Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price–and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone…
A convict with a thirst for revenge.
A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager.
A runaway with a privileged past.
A spy known as the Wraith.
A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums.
A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes.
Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction―if they don’t kill each other first.”
This book has been on my TBR for a while. It sounds really good. 😊

So far its great! I love the alternating POVs and the fact that we have some male narrators (there aren’t enough male narrators in YA books!)

Oh really. I didn’t know it had alternating POV. Is it first or third person? I’m a big fan of first person male/female POV. I love male narrators. I used to think I liked female more but I don’t.

Its all third person, and the alternating POVs are from each of the characters in the heist. I’m only about 30% in, but so far all of the characters are interesting.

That sounds really good. I better bump it up higher on my TBR.

I keep seeing it around, but last year slightly overdosed on swords and sorcery tales set in an underworld, so wanted to give myself something of a break:). This looks really good, though. I’ll be interested to see how you feel about it when you’ve finished it. This is my TT this week…

I love your teaser! It definitely makes me want to reread Six Of Crows now… It was one of my 2015 favorites, and I can’t wait to read the sequel. I’m glad you are enjoying it so far. 🙂
Happy reading! Here’s my teaser of The Fire Child by S.K. Tremayne.
